Smash Tennis coaches have the right to cancel a lesson up to one hour before start time, based on the NEA weather forecast if Raining (Cat1 or Thunder & Lighting). All lessons are deemed as ‘on’ unless cancelled by the tennis coach.

Our utmost effort is made to accommodate some play, and if required, we will arrive earlier to address any water accumulation. If you do not receive a cancellation notification, the class will proceed as scheduled.

If it rains before the lesson begins, there will not be any charges and a make-up Tennis lesson would be conducted on another date.

If it rains in the first 30 minutes of the lesson, according to the coaches’ watch, the lesson will be charged for 30 minutes.

If it rains between 30-60 minutes of the lesson time, according to the coaches’ watch, the one-hour lesson fee will be charged in full.

Yes, we would highly recommend a proper pair of tennis shoes.
Tennis shoes are crucial for comfort, safety, and performance on the court. Here’s what to look for:

  1. Stability and support: Choose shoes with good lateral support to prevent ankle injuries.
  2. Cushioning: Opt for shoes with ample cushioning to reduce fatigue and injury risk.
  3. Traction: Select shoes with a tread pattern designed for traction on hard court surfaces.
  4. Comfort and fit: Ensure shoes fit snugly but comfortably to avoid discomfort and blisters.
  5. Breathability: Look for shoes made from breathable materials to keep feet cool and dry.

Remember, tennis-specific shoes offer better support and performance compared to running or casual sneakers. Investing in quality tennis shoes enhances your game and minimises injury risk.

Selecting the right tennis racket is important for your game. Here are some factors to consider when choosing a racket:

  • Grip size: Make sure the grip size is comfortable for your hand. You can measure this by holding the racket and ensuring there is enough space for your index finger between your palm and fingertips when gripping the handle.
  • Head size: Larger head sizes offer more power and forgiveness on off-center hits, while smaller head sizes provide more control. Beginners may prefer a larger head size for easier play.
  • Weight and balance: Rackets come in various weights and balances (head-light, even-balance, or head-heavy). Lighter rackets are easier to maneuver but may lack power, while heavier rackets offer more stability and power but require more strength to swing.
  • String pattern: Rackets have different string patterns (open or closed) which affect spin potential and control. Open string patterns provide more spin, while closed patterns offer more control.
  • Budget: Consider your budget when purchasing a racket. There are options available for every price range, from entry-level to high-performance rackets.

We recommend trying out different rackets to see which one feels most comfortable and suits your playing style. Additionally, consult with your tennis coach or a knowledgeable tennis professional for personalized recommendations based on your skill level and playing preferences.

Please notify our coaches in advance and we will loan you a tennis racket for the lesson.

Private and pair lessons require students to cover tennis court fees separately.

For open group lessons, the court fees are inclusive within the lesson fees.

To book public tennis courts, an ActiveSG account is necessary.

If you have access to a condominium tennis court, we can conduct lessons there, eliminating the need for additional court fees.

For private classes:

You have to let us know 1 day (24 hours) prior to the lesson. Last minute cancellations will be considered a full lesson.

For group classes:

Once the class has been scheduled and if you can’t make it for the class, it will be counted as you are absent and there will no make up class for you. The class will carry on.

We offer tennis lessons across Singapore. If you reside in a condominium or have access to a private tennis court, we simply require permission to utilise the facility for our lessons. Alternatively, you can select a nearby public tennis court, and we will conduct the lesson there.

As for group tennis sessions, our class schedule changes according to our students needs. Regrettably, we do not have a fixed timetable that we can distribute. Kindly reach out to us for the current schedule and availability in a suitable group for you.

For private lessons, you’ll need to coordinate with your tennis coach to find a mutually convenient day and time slot. It’s advisable to book your coach early, especially if you have a specific day and time preference, to avoid disappointment. You can also establish a recurring day and time each week with your coach, ensuring priority for that slot.

Regarding group classes, our schedule is dynamic, evolving based on our students needs. Please get in touch with us to inquire about a suitable group class schedule for you.

The time it takes to learn tennis varies from person to person, depending on factors such as prior experience, physical fitness, coordination, and how often you practice. Generally, within 10-20 lessons, you’ll learn the basic strokes needed to start playing a standard game of tennis. However, mastering the sport takes ongoing practice and dedication. Our coaches will work with you at your pace to ensure you progress comfortably and enjoyably

Booking your tennis lesson with Smash Tennis Academy, you will be paired with your own dedicated tennis coach. Once the booking for your first session has been confirmed, you will receive an email with a payment link. Coaching fees are required to be paid in full.

If you have an ActiveSG account, as a first-time registrant, you receive $100 eCredits for booking sports facilities. We encourage you to utilize these credits for your bookings to save money.

While we do offer court booking services at a rate of $10 per hour, we recommend making the bookings yourself. If you opt for our coaching packages of 10 hours, an additional $100 will be included respectively to cover the court fees.

All group package lessons signed up for are reoccurring according to package term, after which it is compulsory to attend all lessons.

There will be no cancelation policy for groups, which will be charged in full for the remainder of the signed term, regardless of attendance.

The choice between private and group tennis lessons depends on your individual preferences, goals, and learning style.

  • Private lessons are tailored specifically to you, offering personalized attention and a customized lesson plan. This option is ideal if you prefer one-on-one instruction, want to focus on specific skills, or have a busy schedule that requires flexible timing.
  • Group lessons provide a social and interactive environment where you can learn alongside others. This option is great for those who enjoy group dynamics, thrive in a collaborative setting, and benefit from observing and learning from fellow players.

Ultimately, the decision comes down to your personal preferences and goals. We recommend trying both formats to see which one best suits your needs and helps you achieve your tennis objectives.
